Save the world from the bad guys by filling the shoes of an apprentice wizard. Flink begins with very few abilities (jump / attack and pick up & throw), but more are gained by finding scrolls and ingredients to cast spells. The problem is that the scrolls don't necessarily give you the ingredients (of which there are always three) in the right order, and if you get it wrong, you lose the items. The world and sprites are beautifully animated, an wonderful example of 2D bitmap art considering the limitations of the Mega-CD hardware. The usual CD-quality audio is provided and the levels are suitably varied. The only gripe is the control of Flink himself - whilst he does pick up speed as he continues to move in one direction, it still feels just a little too slow. That aside, Flink is an excellent platform adventure. |
